Kirkland Rotary meeting on Monday the 6th of July, 2015.

The brand new President, Rich Bergdahl, opened the meeting – wait a minute! Are you telling me he missed his inaugural meeting? Thank goodness that Jason Overleese, Rotarian of the Year filled in nicely. Jason asked Samir Saluja to lead us in the Pledge.

Dr. Ernie Norehad shared with us some thoughts from many great Americans – Casey Stengel was one of them.  "Being with a woman all night never hurt no professional baseball player. It's staying up all night looking for a woman that does him in.” If that isn’t American, I don’t know what is.

Announcements –

Patti Smith wanted to remind everyone we still have a lot of slots open for selling ducks – please find a spot on the schedule.

Joanne Primavera passed out a list of committees and encouraged everyone to find a service committee to join.

Stephanie Walter was praised for daring to wear the Duck Costume on the 4th of July in 90 degree weather – she was a hit and did not need medical attention – Stephanie has been assigned the duck outfit for all future events!

Jason Overleese needs eight volunteers for assisting with the logistics of the Duck Race in August – if he does not get eight, then he will volunteer you.

Reminders to all – the July 13th meeting will be at the ChainLine Brewery – 503 – 6th Street South.

Two of the three winners from the Joker Pool – Megan Nakanishi and Scott Rethke were awarded their money and an oversized check for a keepsake – the check keepsakes were supplied by Rick Walter with the help of Perfect Press in Bellevue. Harry Wagoner was not present and forfeits all winnings!!!

Speaker -

Our Speaker for the evening was Kerri Wood, Founder and CEO of Adventure on Travel – a tour company that focuses on Italy. Kerri was introduced by her husband and then entertained us with stories of her trips to Italy and how her company is different than the “Box Stores” of tours. Kerri answered all questions asked and then gave information about future tours she is planning and the cost of these adventures.

Jason rang the bell and everyone hit the road!
