Managing city growth and change
City of Kirkland Planning & Building Department Deputy Director Jeremy McMahan and members of his team will join Rotarians to provide an overview of major development projects underway or planned in Kirkland, as well as an overview of key initiatives that will shape future development.  With the region forecast to grow by 1.8 million people and 1.2 million jobs by 2050, the team will discuss city of Kirkland initiatives that address housing affordability, sustainability, transportation, and transit-oriented development.
 
Jeremy has enjoyed working for the city of Kirkland for over 30 years and helping the community shape and implement a vision for the future.  He has worked in all aspects of planning and community development, including developing land use policy, drafting codes and laws that implement policies, and reviewing development permits to ensure compliance with codes and laws.  Jeremy holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Puget Sound and a Master of Landscape Architecture from Cornell University.  He lives in Bothell with his wife and best-dog-ever.
