Grays Harbor Historical Seaport: From Lady to the Landing
Bailey Cavender is the deputy director of the Grays Harbor Historical Seaport, and will describe for Rotarians the story of the original Lady Washington, the historical Lady Washington, the nature of the Seaport Landing Site and Event Center, Lady Washington's upcoming restoration, and they public programming offered by the Historical Seaport.
 
Bailey has fifteen years of museum and nonprofit experience, and first encountered the Seaport when she served as steward and education coordinator on the Hawaiian Chieftain in 2011 and 2012. She has been volunteering on and off ever since, even serving on the board before coming to work at Seaport Landing. Part of her job as deputy director is to develop an on-site Seaport Museum. Bailey holds B.A. in English and History from Whitworth University, and a B.S. in Secondary Education and an M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Idaho. Her master’s work dealt with the transportation history of the Pacific Northwest, and her museum specializations are collections management and education.
