Community economic, environmental, and equity benefits via passenger rail and seamless connections
Charlie Hamilton and Patrick Carnahan, co-executive directors of All Aboard Washington, will present AAWA’s plan to promote safe, reliable, frequent, competitive, and convenient passenger rail services that meet the needs of all Washingtonians, including intercity passenger rail service, with connections to local transit, that brings significant benefits to communities of all sizes. They will discuss this AAWA vision, and ask for Rotarians’ feedback.
 
Charlis Hamilton is the founder and co-owner of CHCS Consulting, which provides research, organizational development, publicity, marketing, and website services to a diverse national client base of businesses and nonprofit organizations. In addition, he writes about tech subjects and advocates for improved passenger rail and transit services. He holds a Ph. D. in communication from the University of Maryland and has a certificate in organizational development and training from Georgetown University. He is a former board member of the Capitol Hill (Seattle) Chamber of Commerce, Rail Passengers Association, and other community groups.
 
Patrick Carnahan is an operator with Sound Transit’s T Line Link light rail. He is also an experienced researcher, editor and writer. He has a strong background in international travel and passenger rail advocacy, with a focus on economically and environmentally sustainable urban design. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Saint Martin’s University in Lacey.
