Leadership through neighborhood publishing
Anne Hess is the publisher of Kirkland Living magazine and represents over 20 local N2 publications in the Greater Seattle area whose mission it is to build community and connect businesses with their ideal market through a relationship-building program.  Anne will discuss with Rotarians how the resilience she's learned from her life experiences has helped her to persevere during this current economic climate, and brief club members on BeLOCAL Kirkland, a new multiplatform program on which she is working that will launch later this year.  She invites Rotarians to vote on favorite local businesses through this site: https://campsite.bio/belocalkirkland.

Anne has spent her career in advertising and communications, then after moving to Kirkland and falling in love with the community, she put her experience to work here telling the stories of our neighbors through Kirkland Living (view the September issue).  She has been instrumental in promoting and supporting local businesses, our youth, the arts, and non-profits.  Anne’s volunteerism and commitment to giving back include her service on the board of directors for the Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce, the Kirkland Performance Center, and the Kirkland Downtown Association.  She has two grown children, two precious granddaughters, a dog named Olive, and enjoys boating, golfing and hiking.
