Rotary’s new calendar year launched with a program series offering updates on key activities of Kirkland's police, fire, and planning departments.  Kirkland Police Corporal John Ness and Officer Tiffany Trombley briefed Rotarians on the Community Services Unit, including the increased need for School Resources Officers’, Neighborhood Resource Officers’, and Mental Health Professionals’ services.  Planning & Building Department Deputy Director Jeremy McMahan reviewed major business developments and major transportation projects on the city's planning list.  And Fire Department Chief Joe Sanford explained the service improvements provided by passage of the recent fire and EMS ballot measure approved by voters.
