During its May 1, 2023 meeting, the club's membership approved extensive revisions to the club's bylaws. The club's bylaws have not been updated in some time, and this proposed revision is the result of work over several years by the bylaws committee members. Rotary International requires each club to adopt bylaws, requires certain content be present, and provides latitude to the club with respect to several elements of the bylaws. The revisions are designed to meet those requirements and more.A copy of the revised bylaws is posted to the club's website in the Documents section of the Organization area (log-in is required). Major revisions occurred to the description of the board of directors, the membership process and definitions, and the club's committee structure. Changes to the club's website, especially new links to online membership referral and application forms, and adjustments to the Avenues of Service committees, have been implemented to support the revised processes.
The format follows the recommended bylaws provided by Rotary International. The content is based on this club's prior set of bylaws, with most sections updated to remove antiquated language, committees and procedures the club no longer uses or follows, to incorporate certain Rotary International language, to conform to the updated constitution adopted by the club last month, and to reflect more closely current club structure and procedures.
Rotarians are encouraged to take a few minutes to review the bylaws in anticipation club activities that leverage this updated version. An old version of the club's bylaws is also available in the Documents section of the club's website, as is the club's recently updated constitution.
