The Rotary Club of Kirkland held a Valentine’s Day Gala at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Kirkland on February 10, 2025, with food provided by The Catering Company of Kirkland.

Many thanks to Doug Evanson for organizing the event and to Alice Volpe for her great table centerpiece creations.  Peggy Ostrander also supplied us with homemade cookies to supplement our meal.

Club members began arriving about 5:00 p.m. for the 5:30 p.m. event so we could ensure everything was ready by 5:30.

We had our choice of two different pasta dishes, together with salad, bread, and dessert.  There was also a choice of several different red and white wines, beer, soft drinks, and water.

As we finished eating, Rick Ostrander asked club members to stand and describe how they first met their significant others.  This resulted in in some interesting and entertaining stories!

Everyone had a great time as Rotarians and their guests enjoyed a convivial evening of socializing, food, and drinks.  In it isn’t often that we get a chance to actually talk to fellow club members, and to meet friends and significant others of members in a setting completely devoted to fellowship and social interaction.

By about 8:00 p.m., Rotarians and guests had just about finished cleaning up the area, removing detritus, and taking the church's table cloths for washing.
