The club’s board of directors met on Thursday, January 20, using the Zoom platform. Highlights include another healthy discussion of the meeting location, and the level of attendance by club members.Board members discussed ways to improve club members' awareness of the club's accessibility to current and new members through using Zoom in addition to the in-person meetings. President Dave DeBois agreed to include additional notes in his email messages to members. Club members will still see the Zoom notice and link that has been provided in the Spokesman for the past two years, the Zoom information on the club's home page, and the Zoom information in the club's Calendar.
The board reaffirmed continuation of the Great Puget Sound Duck Dash for the coming year, and came to consensus on a reduced number of racing ducks for the new contract. President-elect Amy Mutal will conclude the contract arrangements and meet with Vice President Gary Cohn to effect the transfer of Duck Dash responsibility.
The treasurer’s report included an update on revenue and expense patterns, another discussion of financial impact of low attendance at club meetings, and a new display that demonstrates the financial structure of the Duck Dash.
The board approved a membership application for submission to the club's membership. President-elect Amy Mutal will develop candidates for vice president next year, and begin selecting club officers for next year.
