The club’s board of directors met on Monday evening, July 17, 2025 at the Banner Bank branch in downtown Kirkland. Highlights included reports of officers, discussion of the proposed budget for FY 2025-2026, discussion of auction arrangements, and discussion of community service events.Committee sign-ups are underway by members, but not all of the members have selected a committee. Kate will follow up with those who have not done so. Jocelyn requested that the club participate in the Day Out for Autism, which costs $1,000 at the partner level. No source of funds was identified, and Rick Walter offered to make the donation.
Rick Ostrander reported that not all members have paid their dues, and again presented the budget draft prepared for 2025-2026. Several board members objected to the level of detail in the budget, requesting that committee chairs be allocated lump sums and have the authority to spend it as they see fit, but with board approval. Another request is that expected member donations not be included in the budget, and the $2,000 allocated to the community service chair be included. Budget approval was postponed to August.
Directors discussed the preparations for the salmon bak, and whether to discontinue the use of Paya Bankcard and move to Evenbrite for the event registration platform. Community service project participation was described, and the status of donations for The Sophia Way, Operation Warm, St. John's Meal, and Hopelink were discussed.
Cody Baker updated directors on the status of one prospect who has accepted her invitation to join the club, and the preparations for the auction. Ticket prices are still expected to be $100, but the catering bids are coming in at $100 and $70 per place. Collections for the live and silent auctions are still in process.
