Alice Volpe introduced Margaret Kagawa, member of the Rotary club Alice attended on Kauai.

Dan Bartel introduced Carol McCarty, who is the Manager of the West Division Supply Chain for McDonalds.

James McNevers had skipped a few meetings while he got married, went on a honeymoon in Tahiti, and was on a two week training.  His application to join the club is in progress.

Jason Overleese introduced Theron Manson, a dentist in the Juanita area.

 

Announcements

Dan Bartel thanked many Rotarians who helped make the annual picnic at Everest Park a success.  Sixty two people attended, including many spouses and children.

Scott Becker set up times to sell tickets at this Sunday’s Classic Car Show in downtown Kirkland.  Alice will send out a reminder to find people to sell.

John Pruitt reminded the members that the Branding Party will be Monday, August 5 at 6:00 p.m. at Lee Johnson Chevrolet.  Homemade cookies, pizza, and soft drinks will follow the successful branding.

John also gave prizes to the teams who had sold the most ducks (so far).

Anne Hamilton gave a short presentation about Facebook with Ducky.  You can go on-line and sign up to be Ducky’s follower.  Steve Shinstrom sent out directions for those of us who don’t use Facebook regularly.   The Facebook page is at “The Great American Puget Sound Duck Dash.”  There will be a new posting every day.  Be sure to ‘like.’

Eric Olsen promoted the Kirkland Rotary Golf Tournament, which will be held on Sept 9, 2013 at the Bear Creek Country Club, 13737 202nd Ave. NE, Woodinville, (425) 882-4770.  Tee time is at noon.   $100 purchases 18 holes of golf and a golf cart, box lunch, no host bar at dinner, BBQ dinner, prizes, and range and putting prior to tee times.  If one just comes for dinner, the cost is $40.

 

Program:  Jason Overleese introduced Mike Margolies.  Mike has worked for 35 years to support the Athlete Within You (title of his inspirational book).  Mike is a certified mental trainer.  Mike helped us remember that your positive thoughts and emotions are critical to your success. 

 

John Woodbery bought the lucky ticket for the joker pool and didn’t draw the joker.  The meeting was adjourned at 7:30  P.M.,
