The AG's office is the largest law firm in the state of Washington with more than 1, 000 attorneys. They are the law firm for all of the agencies, commissions, and departments in this state. They advise, and each department decides. They also represent the peop9le of the state thru affirmative litigation for computer protection, antitrust, etc. Their agency is independent. They defend the laws whether they agree to it or not.

Consumer Protection legal action against Comcast found that they violated the Consumer Protection Action 500 times. It is a historical judgment. The Legislature can use the money in any way they believe the state needs.

The opioid epidemic has devastated families throughout the state. Two people a day die each day from the overdose for opioids.  Washington was one of the first states to file suit against in King County Superior Court.  The pharmaceutical companies engaged in unfair and deceptive trade practices by telling the public the medication was not addictive while knowing that it was.   They also brought actions against 3 distributors who distribute opioids into the communities.  The pursuit of these companies for the damage they have done is a bipartisan issue, and Washington works with other states in their quest to hold the drug companies accountable for putting profit first and the lives second.

The AG's office is very involved in the National level as well.  The travel ban was one of 22 cases they brought against the Trump Administration. The state has won them all.
