Rotary Moment
President Rick informed us that in 1922, the Rotary Clubs officially started Rotary International.
Announcements:
  • Amy Mutal invited all of us to join her at the Grand Opening of her new office at 520 Kirkland Way, Suite 201, this Wednesday evening (March 13) from 5:30 to 7:30 PM.  The Chamber will be there for the ribbon cutting and there will be lots of celebrating!
  • Amy also reminded us that next Monday is “Sweetheart Night.”  Invite your guests to attend for a fun evening.  Thirteen Rotarians have submitted pictures and we’ll even have a musician playing the harp as we enjoy dinner.
  • Amy also told us Bunco will be on April 27th at the Shinstrom’s home.
  • Dan Bartel updated us on the excellent turnout for the Rotary First Harvest work day last Saturday.  The Taylors, Hunters, Aubrys, Bartels (including niece Ellie), Ambareen Jaddi & her two children, Elizabeth Rusnak, Joanne Primavera, and John Woodbery helped pack 5,000 lbs. of pasta and oats for the food banks.
  • President Rick announced a Board meeting for this Wednesday, March 13.  Let Rick know if you’re coming.
  • Dave Aubry updated us on the CKC Rotary Central Station progress.  Everything looks good with funds being procured, trees being removed, and rails waiting to be placed at the site.

Student of the Month
Georgina Encisco told us about her life and how she has tutored students from other countries and helped them to learn English. She started a “Students Without Borders” club at Juanita High School which has also helped these students and others around the world.  Georgina plans to attend Western Washington University and obtain a degree in Education.  We wish you all the best Georgina!
Happy 50th Enumclaw!
President Rick had the whole Club stand as a group and be videoed while we yelled “Happy 50th Enumclaw!”  The Enumclaw Rotary Club has asked each Club in our District to do this.  Should be interesting to see what comes of all these 50th best wishes videos.
Program
Scott Becker introduced Blaine Millet, a well published author, who spoke to us about “Word of Mouth to the 10th Power.”  Blaine explained how to build trust with your customers, so they become your marketing agents.  Better customer experiences with your company, keeping promises, along with helping them improve their businesses will build this trust.
Thank you, Blaine, for an interesting look into how to build our businesses!
Adjournment
President Rick adjourned the meeting at 7:20 PM.
