Announcements:
Barb Seaton thanked everyone who attended last Saturday night’s Kirkland Rotary Foundation Auction.  Over $6,000 was raised to benefit the Cascadia Foundation Scholarship Fund.  It was debatable whether Mike Hunter or Dave Aubrey purchased the most items, but Rick Walter suggested he also might be in the running.  Special thanks were given to Anne Hamilton, who created a very interesting “unauction” that raised over $600.

Jerry Campo will continue to collect $16 from those who went to the hockey game and hadn’t paid him.

Program:
Jason Overleese introduced Ken Johnson who purchased an Internet Marketing franchise a couple of years ago, WSI Web Profit Solutions (ken@ wsiwebprofitsolutions.com).  Ken explained how he helps businesses maximize their web exposure.  His focus is to develop a good site, encourage profitable searches, expand the social website connections, and develops sites for mobile phone usage.  In other words, organize the chaos around the Internet.

Ken said many people do not have a website that encourages searchers to use it.  The biggest mistake is not having the location and a phone number on the home page of the  website.  Google allows any website to use their mapping for free and that will put you on their front page of any search.  Another solution is to try to get organizations and other businesses to click on your website.  Inbound clicks are premium contacts and will raise profits.

A website also should contain a blog, which is updated constantly.  Google is always looking for changes in websites and changes up your rankings on the search page.  You can download Google Analytics to see how many people click on your page, when they click, etc.  Clicks = profits.

Now, there are more searches on YouTube than Google, so your company should also have something on YouTube (other than Magic for Dogs  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEQXeLjY9ak (with over 7,000,000 hits).

Ken also can help develop special sites just for mobile phones.  People are moving away from looking up things on their computer to looking up things on their phone and your mobile site should be very easy to use.

Bob Coen successfully bought the lucky ticket for the joker pool but didn’t win.  The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 P.M.,
