The Rotary Club of Kirkland Student of the Month program concluded this week with the April student of the month from Lake Washington High School. Maria Strathy met club members on April 11, and members quickly learned that Maria is a hardworking student whose favorite classes have been calculus and chemistry, and who enjoys running, music, reading, and spending time with her friends. Maria loves her school activities; she is an active member of DECA, having participated in four different competitive events during her junior year, including competing at state in the Team Financial Services role play event. She has served her school community as ASB treasurer since her junior year, and as cross-country team captain. After graduating, she hopes to attend Columbia University and major in chemical engineering or applied mathematics. Meet the April Student of the Month
