PROGRAM Terry Pottmeyer, President and CEO of Friends of Youth told us about this very important nonprofit organization for the entire Eastside. This large organization cares for troubled young people from 11 to 24 years of age. Over 5000 individuals received help in 2012 and those numbers have been increasing over 10% annually for the last several years. The organization started 61 years ago.

Services include residential treatment for young people who have no home and comprehensive help with counseling, living programs, transitional housing, and family counseling.

A major capital fund raising and development of a long term strategy for this huge program. The capital fund raising goal is $7.5 Million. Some of this has been raised and allowed development of a Kirkland Campus near Totem Lake and so far there are four homes for residential housing for a total of 40 young people.

Terry gave a very comprehensive presentation of this major effort and outlined many options for volunteer support. There were many questions and a comprehensive hand out was given with many more details than can be presented here.

President Scott thanked our guest and speaker. The meeting was adjourned about 7:45.

Respectfully submitted Bob Webb Scribe for the day.
