As a scholar and athlete, Brooke Lewis devotes her time to being impactful within her community.  At Lake Washington High School, Brooke helped create Kang Connections—a student-founded and run peer-to-peer mental health organization.  Through this program, Brooke was trained by the Department of Health in disaster behavioral health response and uses her training to mentor students.  Beyond her school community, Brooke is a 2023-2024 National Alliance for Mental Illness Eastside Youth Ambassador.  This provided a platform to increase mental health literacy within the greater Eastside community. She presented mental health research at the 2024 NAMI Eastside Youth Mental Health Conference.

Brooke is an elite-level trampoline and tumbling gymnast and winner of multiple state titles and a state-wide inspirational athlete award.  This commitment and aspect of her identity led her to become a role model for young athletes within the state of Washington. Brooke plans to further her education by attending a four-year university to study biological science on a pre-med track, with an emphasis on human biology.  She also hopes to minor in creative writing—a way to continue exploring different facets of her interests, and also plans to continue training in her sport at the elite level. Brooke is the recipient of a $3,000 Kirkland Rotary Scholarship.
