Erisa Baba enjoys challenging herself as a student and as a person. She is interested in architecture and engineering and has been active in many related extracurriculars. Erisa has been enrolled in the Architecture Construction Engineering Mentor Program run by professionals who have insightful experience in the field. In addition to this program, she competed in a Bridge Building Competition held by the American Society of Civil Engineers, earning 3 awards (Most Efficient, Overall 3rd, and T-Shirt Award). She also took Boston Architectural College Summer Academy last year, mentored by professors with impressive understandings of the subjects. At the academy, Erisa achieved 2 Credly badges: Digital Design Basics (3D Software) and Summer Academy Foundations (60+ hours hands-on design and exercises).She plans to pursue major studies in physics and civil engineering. Through their 3-2 engineering program, Erisa expects to earn two bachelor's degrees: a Bachelor of Arts from Whitman and a Bachelor of Science from a partner school (hopefully Columbia). She plans to use this engineering background to set a solid foundation for more opportunities in the workplace. Because she loves architecture and STEM, combining these two disciplines would be her ideal career path. Erisa is the recipient of a $1,500 Rotary Step Scholarship.
