First and foremost, Nathan Coppinger is a musician; he plays the euphonium in band and has participated in the highest ensemble at Juanita High School for threee years. He participated in the Solo & Ensemble competition this year and won the regional competition. Nathan has also maintained a high grade and have taken many difficult courses, and plans to use this knowledge in the future to get a degree in either Mathematics or Engineering.Following high school, Nathan would like to pursue music as a hobby, if not as a secondary occupation. In addition to playing music, he also produces and composes music electronically. This music comes in many different styles, including techno, orchestral, bassline house, and concert band. Nathan spends a great deal of time on this, and would like to develop it into something more than a hobby in the future. Nathan can use this to provide the world with some unique and interesting sounds; to have a listener enjoy one of his songs is to have helped brighten someone's day, and that is something about which he is passionate. Nathan is a recipient of a $2,500 Rotary Club of Kirkland Scholarship.
