Xavier Smith describes himself as an athlete, scholar, and a man of faith. He is a member of the Seattle Church of Christ, which is part of the International Churches of Christ, and loves God and spending time with other teens in the youth ministry. He was baptized and became a disciple on January 15.

Xavier was multi-sport athlete at Lake Washington High School, competing at the varsity level on the football and wrestling teams. Through sports, Xavier feels he’s grown in leadership as he rose to the expectations of discipline and responsibility required of him as a captain fall of this senior year.

Xavier participated in the Running Start program, and is proud of pushing himself beyond the standard for high school students. In Running Start, he simultaneously completed his high school graduation requirements and rigorous coursework at Bellevue College. As a result of his college involvement, he placed 8th among Washington community college public speakers.

Xavier has been accepted by several of Washington's private universities, has received an offer from the University of Puget Sound to play collegiate football, and is excited to continue his higher education while preparing to become a lawyer. Xavier is a recipient of a $2,500 Rotary Club of Kirkland Scholarship.
