Zainab Al Zoubaidi believes that education is important for everyone, and receiving enough support makes the education journey possible for so many. From Zainab’s personal experience in a low-income family, she knows families like hers can never afford college payments on their own. She says receiving financial aid to pay course tuition was the magic ingredient that prompted her to decide to study. She says the family still struggles to earn enough money to support her kids and to meet the family’s basic needs, so the Rotary scholarships can make is possible for the family to pay for books, gas for the car, child care, and other necessities.

Financial aid and scholarships are essential for her to earn a bachelor's degree after she completes her associate degree at Lake Washington Institute of Technology. Zainab believes that education is important to all generations, and for low-income people it matters so very much to get a degree after high school in order to get a better job and have better life. Zainab thanks Rotarians very much for this opportunity. Zainab was awarded a Kirkland Rotary Technical Education Scholarship.
