Last month saw the conclusion of the application and interview process for the 2022-2023 Rotary Club of Kirkland Students of the Month. Eighteen students from Emerson, Juanita, and Lake Washington high schools began the application process. Ten students have completed the process by submitting applications and sitting for in-person interviews with Rotary teams. Thanks are due to the vocational service committee interview teams: Kristen Olson, Patti Smith, and Rick Walter at JHS; Brandon Honcoop, James Nevers, and John Pruitt at LWHS; and Pete Anderson, Gary Cohn, and Rick Ostrander at Emerson High School.The students whose names appear below were selected, and will present themselves and their guests to the club members during the course of this year. Watch for their short bios and photos to appear in the Student of the Month pages of the club's website. In addition, these community leaders will be added to the club's bulletin mailing list, and encouraged to consider applying for scholarships in the future. Two students from Emerson were unable to attend on the interview date. The school contact is working with the Rotary team to find an alternative date that will work for the students and the team.
