Welcome one new and four prospective members to the Rotary Club of Kirkland! Doug Evanson has completed the membership process and is now a new member. Rashmi Garimella, Kiavash Maadanian, Lyndsey Tews have formally applied for membership in the club, and are engaged in the getting-to-know us stage by attending club meetings and meeting Rotarians.Doug started out his career as a teacher, then spent 35 years in the hospitality industry, followed by 8 years as a broker with John L Scott’s Bellevue office. He enjoys guitar, gardening, home remodeling, landscaping, local historical landmarks, brewing beer, wine, cooking and eating, exercise, and especially his dog.
Rashmi is working as an information technology program manager, expresses strong belief in kindness, empathy, and equal treatment for everyone, and enjoys reading, dancing, cooking, and sharing her sense of humor. She wants members to know she is excited to be here and will love being a part of the Rotary club.
Lyndsey Tews has been a Pacific Northwest resident since 2009, has worked for Seattle Children’s Hospital for the past 10 years in the ophthalmology division, and has personally witnessed the impact of Rotary on patients, families, and the hospital. She moved to the Kirkland area for a small town feel and to be closer to her sister, niece and nephew. She is an avid runner, loves to join sponsored runs, and is interested in the
philanthropy work that Rotary is known for, and the events the club sponsors within schools and community.
