The Rotary Club of Kirkland held a meeting at The Woodmark Hotel on July 26, 2021. Rotarians attended in person; there were no online attendees. The greeter for this meeting was Mike Hunter.

President Dave DeBois rang the bell at 6:30 p.m., calling the club meeting to order.

Alice Volpe led the membership in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Attending were George Anderson, Gary Cohn, Dave DeBois, Margie Glenn, Brandon Honcoop, Mike Hunter, James Meniketti, Amy Mutal, James Nevers, Ernie Norehad, Kristin Olson, Rick Ostrander, Joanne Primavera, Steve Shinstrom, Brian Tucker, Alice Volpe, Rick Walter, and John Woodbery.

The Duck Dash needs volunteers! Rotarians can find all of the ticket sales dates in the club's online Calendar, and the new ClubRunner Volunteer Module allows Rotarians to sign up online. Just click on the calendar item and then click on the sign up button. At this week's club meeting, Head Duck Amy Mutal distributed tickets, recruited members for the next few dates for ticket sales, and alerted members that tickets and supplies are only available at Prevail Wealth. Prevail Wealth is the one-stop shop for tickets and supplies; they are no longer kept at Shinstrom Insurance or Banner Bank.

Annual dues payments are due by Saturday, July 31, 2021. Nonpayment of dues jeopardizes membership in the Rotary club. 

Rotarians may pay using the online Dues & Billing System link in the third invoice emailed on July 25. The link is embedded in the bold words "Pay Now" in the invoice. Online payment requires a credit or debit card. Members may also pay by check through the U.S. Mail. Need a new Rotary Dinner Ticket for dinners during club meetings? ClubRunner partner Paya Bankcard created a new website page for purchasing Dinner Tickets for dinners during club meetings at The Woodmark Hotel.

A link to the special payment page is located under the "Members" tab in the gold bar at the top of the club's home page. Look for the "Club Dinner Ticket" option in the drop-down menu. Once selected, a new page appears. On that new page click on "Check Out". Next, a fill-in-the-blanks credit card payment page appears. This new payment page is nearly identical to the Donations page, except it has only one choice: Dinner Ticket. For the time being, Dinner Tickets are $280 for 10 dinners. (This is a $2 per dinner discount.) Price is based on the charge per meal negotiated with The Woodmark Hotel. A "Club Dinner Ticket" link will also be provided on the left side of the Spokesman.

During the past year and half, in response to the social distancing essential to stop the spread of COVID-19, the club has been using Zoom to hold virtual meetings in lieu of in-person meetings at The Woodmark Hotel. When the club resumed in-person meetings last month, the Zoom option was maintained for those who preferred not to attend in-person. The Zoom option has been used by only one or two people at a few meetings, and no one has used Zoom for the last two meetings. As a result, the Zoom option has been placed on "pause" until the club transitions out of the summer months.
