The Rotary Club of Kirkland held an in-person meeting November 17, 2025, at the Kirkland Eagles Club.
The meeting was called to order at 6:15PM by President Kate Koslosky. President Kate then led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Members Attending: David Aubry, Cody Baker, Roger Clarke, Jocelyn Ellison, Isabelle Kalisa, Chris Kelly-Storbeck, Kate Koslosky, Jim Meniketti, Rick Ostrander, Joanne Primavera, Angela Pritchett, John Storbeck, and Rick Walter.
New member Roger Clarke recited the 4-Way Test from memory – very impressive.
We all thanked Angela Pritchett and Remy Pairault for hosting last Monday’s Club Social Event at their house. We enjoyed hand-made Margaritas and assemble-it-yourself tacos with the great ingredients provided by our hosts. There was much animated conversation and socializing among the many attendees.
No one sold raffle tickets, as the needed tickets were missing.
We signed up for various tasks to be done before, during, and after next year’s Gala and Auction. We discussed the need to make decisions early as to when, where, and our goals so we can solicit support from the business community before the end of 2025. We need to discuss and decide on such things as where, when, and how much money we aim to raise. All this type of information, as well as what we envision doing with the money, needs to be decided soon so we can provide the information in a handout to prospective sponsors/donors.
We need to have the event before the snowbirds go south, after folks are back from vacations, and while the weather is still good.
Chris Kelly-Storbeck has investigated some different venues such as rooms at Carillon Point [very expensive]. We discussed St John’s Church, the Kirkland Women’s Club, and Heritage Hall, amongst other places. Note that there will be a club board meeting to discuss and decide some of these issues this Thursday, November 20, at 5:30 p.m., at Rick Walter’s old place of business: Hutchinson & Walter, CPAs, 1407 116th Avenue NE, Suite 222, Bellevue, WA 98004. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate in the discussion regarding the Auction and Gala.
