Kirkland Wants Your Leadership and Passion for Service!

The Rotary Club of Kirkland is nearing the beginning of its second century of service to the Greater Kirkland community.  You may be just the right person to contribute to new growth, new diversity, and new energy for investing in community and world health.  Over 86 years, club members have represented dozens of professional classifications and included the leaders of educational institutions, senior leaders in Kirkland’s businesses and in government, partners in leading law firms, executives and directors of non-profit institutions, and many business owners and community leaders.

This club seeks new members who see themselves in these descriptions of community service leaders:

A person who has interest in performing community service including at least one of these characteristics:
  • Is currently a leader or about to be a leader in their career field.
  • Is retired from a worthy and recognized business or profession, including any branch of the armed forces of the United States, and looking to continue to serve.
  • Is a community leader who has demonstrated through personal involvement in community affairs a commitment to service.
  • Is a person looking to add more meaning to their lives and seeking ways to have an impact locally and/or internationally.

Who Should Consider Becoming a Member of the Rotary Club of Kirkland?

A primary consideration on the part of a potential candidate is that they are a participating self-starter.  The Rotary Club of Kirkland seeks as members adults who adhere to strong ethical standards, have good reputations, and are established professionals who have demonstrated leadership in their business and community activities.  Most are engaged as proprietors, partners, corporate officers or senior level managers in a recognized business, profession, or agency.

Club members, are "adult persons of good character and good business, professional and/or community reputation" and agree to uphold high ethical standards in their "personal, business and community life" as well as in their interaction with other people generally.

Expressions of interest in membership are welcome.  Because membership in a Rotary club is by invitation only, at the discretion of the members, it is important that a prospective member take time to visit the club on a few occasions. This ensures the prospective member gets to know the club’s members and will feel happy being part of the club, and that the club members have a chance to get to know the prospective member.
