Marion Mays is Rose Hill Middle School’s Outstanding Educator for 2023-1024. Principal Joe Gorter says Marion is one of the most outstanding special education teachers he has ever worked with. She is a tireless advocate for students and always one to jump in and lend a hand to colleagues in the service of students. She is an excellent team player and has been a leader in our Rose Hill’s efforts to be a more inclusive learning environment for all students. Mr. Gorter says Marion sees in the students with whom she works the strengths and talents they bring to the school community, and she helps others share this asset-based mindset. One thing that really jumps out about Marion is she does a lot of work behind the scenes that many don’t know about, and she never seeks the limelight or recognition. She is incredibly humble and will probably be shocked at receiving this award. Rose Hill and the Rotary Club of Kirkland are pleased to honor this amazing educator this year.
