Insight into the regional outlook of a major employer
Ian Goodhew will brief Rotary Club of Kirkland members on the regional business outlook for Google, and provide major employer perspective on the recent Washington legislative session.
 
Ian is Google’s senior manager for government relations in the Pacific Northwest Region.  Ian represents Google's state and local policy interests in Washington and Oregon, including Google sites in Seattle, Kirkland, Bellevue, Portland and Google's first data center in The Dalles.
 
Prior to joining Google, Ian served as the director of government relations and associate vice president for medical affairs at UW Medicine.  Prior to joining UW Medicine, he served as deputy chief of staff in the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office beginning his career as a trial attorney prosecuting domestic violence, sexual assault and homicide cases, including serving on the Green River Taskforce for two years.  Ian also served as a legislative assistant to the late U.S. Senator Slade Gorton.  He graduated from the University of Washington with B.A. in Political Science and earned a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
