The club’s board of directors met on Thursday evening, April 17, 2025 at the Banner Bank branch in downtown Kirkland. Highlights included approval of the basic agreement with the foundation on details of the fall auction as the major fundraiser, discussing an alternative meeting structure, approval of the meeting schedule, and adoption of the dues for 2025-2026.Auction committee co-chair Cody Baker and foundation president John Pruitt reported on the agreement to direct all of the proceeds from the auction to club for allocation by the club's board of directors. This is a significant change from the arrangement during prior years.
The board reviewed the treasurer's reports on the status of the club’s expenses and assets: a balance sheet as of March 31, 2025, an income statement for March 2025, and income statement as well as a budget worksheet through the third quarter of the fiscal year. After reviewing dues and insurance premium increase information from Rotary International, the board voted to keep the club's portion of the dues the same, and the overall annual dues amount rise to $5.00 in anticipation of the estimated international increase and the inclusion of a small cushion for a possible district dues increase.
The board approved reserving the Fraternal Order of Eagles meeting hall for the first quarter of 2025-2026, with further reservation pending the outcome of the test of Prosecco Restaurant & Pizzeria as a meeting venue. The board discussed a change to the annual meeting structure, and approved cancellation of the May 12 virtual meeting in favor of a club social at the Moss Bay Beer Hall. The board approved the annual meeting calendar for 2025-2026 consistent with the club's bylaws.
