During the meeting of the club's board of directors on Thursday, June 13, 2024, the directors considered and unanimously approved a proposed revision to Article 4 of the club's Bylaws, Duties of Officers. The board elected to send the proposed revision to the membership via an online voting system as authorized in a recent update to the Bylaws. Ballots are due June 24, 2024. Approval will establish an ex-officio, non-voting member of the board named "club executive secretary/director". It is a support position, similar to the club's non-voting and sometimes-used sergeant-at-arms position, that is recognized by Rotary International and the holder of which RI provides access to the club's data for maintaining club data (membership, officers, etc.). The board feels this position, which may be filled from time to time as needed, is important to maintaining consistency of club records during the next few years.A copy of the proposed Bylaws revision was distributed to all members on June 14 via StrawPoll. The ten-day provision in the Bylaws means that club members have until June 24 to cast a ballot. During this month, the club has a total of 42 members: 37 Active + 1 Honorary + 1 Active - Corporate Primary + 1 Active - Corporate Alternate + 2 Active - Spouse/Partner. A quorum is 14 active, voting members. Please take time to review the proposed language before your vote is due on June 24. If you have questions about this proposal, please contact the club president.
