The Rotary Club of Kirkland held a meeting online on February 22, 2021.

It is Valentine’s Day Sweetheart Night, with unfortunately, no real socializing.

Attending were James & Jessica Nevers, Dave and Anna Aubry, Dave & Christine DeBois, Joanne Primavera, Steve and Patty Shinstrom, John Pruitt, Rick & Peggy Ostrander, Scott Becker, Russ and Tricia Stromberg, Rick & Stephanie Walter, Amy and Dave Mutal, Brandon Honcoop, Bella Chaffey and her fiancé, Nikola, Mike & Sharon Hunter, and Monica Fratita.  Let me know if I missed anyone.

We did do a good bit of on-line socializing, with glasses of various libations in hand.  Everyone told humorous stories about what they have been doing and what they have been watching on Netflix.

President James Nevers rang the bottle [not a typo] at 6:17 p.m.

Guests:

In addition to spouses and significant others, Joseph Claeys, a banker friend of Scott Becker and potential Kirkland Rotarian was a guest for the evening.  Bella introduced her fiancé, Nikola.  He gave a brief outline of his work as a videographer and photographer, who produces promotional videos for companies.  Of necessity, he has begun doing website construction and development.

Happy Dollars:

Lots of Happy Rotarians, with House VP of Finance Rick Walter recording the amounts.  Many people spoke of their need for a sun break.  Thank you to Dave Aubry, Rick Walter, Dave DeBois, James Nevers, Rick Ostrander, Scott Becker, Dave Mutal, and Russ Stromberg for their generous donations.

Program:

Bella then took charge of the meeting, showing old [some very old] photos of Rotarians and their wives.  We managed to guess who everyone was, but had difficulty with the Valentine’s Day trivia quiz part of the program.  Interesting to see everyone’s clothes and hair change over time.

There was a good deal of comment about the various photos submitted to Bella for inclusion in the program.  A great time was had by all.

Announcements:

Now that Washington has opened up a bit, we may be able to go back to in-person meetings at the Woodmark.  President James is investigating.
Next month is International Service Month so programs will revolve around that.

We adjourned at about 7:14 p.m.

Respectfully Submitted
