Several members of the club’s board of directors met on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at the Brezza Condominium in downtown Kirkland. There were not enough voting directors present and online to establish a quorum, so those assembled discussed the agenda items and individual officers made decisions within their responsibility areas. Highlights included briefings on account balances, status of outstanding club dues payments, status of rummage sale sponsorship collections, status of venue research, consensus on a response to an invitation to contribute to development of Fisk Park, and reports from various officers, committee chairs, and the foundation liaison.Directors agreed on discontinuing the applications of non-responsive prospective members; on creating a special meeting on Monday, July 29, 2024 for those members who participated in the rummage sale activities on-site to debrief the experience; on preparing for a meeting at the Eagles on August 19 if another venue is not located to test and a decision hasn't been made timely to select one of those at which meetings have been held; and on forwarding to membership at the request of Dave DeBois an invitation to participate in a golf tournament to raise funds for a non-profit.
The board meeting schedule for 2024-2025 is published in the club's Calendar. The next board meeting is expected to be held on August 15. The board prefers to return to in-person meetings as often as possible, but this may depend upon who is presiding at various meetings. Locations and Zoom links will be published in the Calendar. Rotarians may view this month’s informal board meeting notes and minutes of prior meetings on the Board Minutes page, which requires a log-in. A link also may be found at the bottom of The Spokesman.
