The club’s board of directors met on Thursday, March 16, 2023, some members attending in-person at Prevail Wealth Management and some via Zoom. Highlights included an update on preparations for the Kirkland Rummage Sale this summer; formal approval of the fundraising committee as the Rotary Rummage Sale Committee; a review of the rummage sale teams sign-up function in ClubRunner; a decision to survey members on meeting structure and hold the review during the April 10 Zoom meeting; and an extensive review of and changes to the calendar for the rest of the year.

Of significant note, the Outstanding Educator Awards ceremony was moved to Monday, May 15, and the annual Transition Dinner was moved to Tuesday, June 20.

The treasurer’s report for March was distributed, and the treasurer noted that the operating fund is at approximately $6,200, and the service projects fund at about $107,000.

The membership chair reported on a potential corporate membership. The international service co-chair discussed a possible District 5030 grant that could support Model UN teams at both JHS and LWHS. The acting vocational service chair reported on the status of the student of the month program (two presentations remaining), the scholarship program (19 applications in process to-date), and the outstanding educator nomination process (three high schools invited to nominate). The board scheduled a special meeting on April 10, after the regular club meeting, aimed at completing and approving bylaws revisions to send to the membership for action.

The board meeting schedule is published in the club's Calendar. Meetings during the balance of the year will be at Amy Mutal's business. Rotarians may view this month’s board meeting minutes and those of prior meetings on the Board Minutes page, which requires a log-in. A link also may be found at the bottom of The Spokesman.
