May Board Meeting Highlights

The club’s board of directors met on Thursday, May 19, using the Zoom platform. Highlights included discussion of a budget draft for th 2022-2023 Rotary year, approval of dues for the coming year, increasing the amount of scholarship awards, approval of membership additions and changes, and development of the 2022-2023 board. The treasurer’s report was provided in written form, including updates on revenue, expenses, and a proposal to begin drawing down charitable funds through increased donations now that the pandemic has receded somewhat, and fund raising and community service are expected to return to pre-pandemic levels. Discussion of funding priorities is scheduled for an upcoming club assembly this summer.

The board approved a membership application submitted by Rashmi Garimella, and elected past-president Bill Woods to honorary membership. The board reviewed the status of scholarship applications compared to prior years; 13 were submitted and four completed this year. Additional funds were committed by two club members, and the board approved increasing the scholarships to $2,500.

The significant discussion centered on the president-elect's efforts to assemble a new board for consideration by the club's membership. Amy identified the partial slate of officers to be presented to the membership for election, and discussed completing the board over the next month.
