The club’s board of directors met on Thursday, May 19, using the Zoom platform. Highlights included discussion of a budget draft for th 2022-2023 Rotary year, approval of dues for the coming year, increasing the amount of scholarship awards, approval of membership additions and changes, and development of the 2022-2023 board. The treasurer’s report was provided in written form, including updates on revenue, expenses, and a proposal to begin drawing down charitable funds through increased donations now that the pandemic has receded somewhat, and fund raising and community service are expected to return to pre-pandemic levels. Discussion of funding priorities is scheduled for an upcoming club assembly this summer.The board approved a membership application submitted by Rashmi Garimella, and elected past-president Bill Woods to honorary membership. The board reviewed the status of scholarship applications compared to prior years; 13 were submitted and four completed this year. Additional funds were committed by two club members, and the board approved increasing the scholarships to $2,500.
