The club’s board of directors met on Thursday, October 21, using the Zoom platform. Highlights include a lengthy discussion of the options available for meeting locations, and the potential for improving the club's accessibility to current and new members through moving to a combination of Zoom and activity or event-centered meetings each month. Meeting venue trials are expected to be at the Courtyard by Marriott in November, at the Wilde Rover Irish Public House in December, and the TechCity Bowl in January. Two meetings at each site are planned, to be scheduled on the first two Mondays of each month. The board considered further the development of an "emeritus" membership category for exceptionally long-time members, considered new member badge formats and content standards, considered logo imagery to honor the club's 85th anniversary next year, and approved the first of several member surveys to be administered through the SurveyMonkey platform.
In addition, the board discussed the status of the community service and club service calendars of events, agreed upon timing and registration costs for the combination gift wrapping party and club holiday party, and a heard brief report on student of the month selection progress. The board meeting schedule is published in the club's Calendar, including an individual Zoom link for each meeting for those who want to attend virtually. Rotarians may view this month’s board meeting minutes and those of prior meetings on the Board Minutes page, which requires a log-in. A link also may be found at the bottom of the Spokesman.
