Meet the April Student of the Month
The Rotary Club of Kirkland Student of the Month program concludes on April 17 with Brady Rabuchin of Lake Washington High School. Brady describes himself as a determined and committed student, son, friend, and peer whose goals are to attend a school in California and go into the field of business. His major accomplishments include two varsity letters and two KingCo Championships his junior year, academic athlete awards, and Kirkland Youth council yearly certificates. Brady says his most important community involvement over the past few years has been the Kirkland Youth Council. Annually he helps the elderly at Christmas, cleans up local parks, provides food donations to Hopelink through QFC food drives, collects and donates pet food and supplies to shelters, and participates in other helping projects around Kirkland.
Club to Review Meeting Structure
During its March 16 meeting, the Rotary Club of Kirkland Board of Directors decided to survey all club members on the club's three-meetings-a-month schedule (two in-person meetings and one virtual meeting).
Club members will be surveyed via SurveyMonkey during the week of April 3. Meeting schedule discussion and club decision on continuation or changing the structure is slated for the April 10 online meeting, and will include the results of the survey. The location for in-person meetings is not intended to be part of the discussion, only the three-meetings-a-month structure. If you have blocked SurveyMonkey (e.g., allowed your email to treat SurveyMonkey surveys as junk, or used your "block" feature on a survey from SurveyMonkey), it's likely you will not receive the survey. If SurveyMonkey is blocked, you'll need to unblock it in your email client in order to receive the survey.

Attain Housing Luncheon Invitation
Rotary Club of Kirkland community partner Attain Housing has announced its Home 1s Where the Heart Is Annual Luncheon will take place in-person on September 28, 2023 at the Overlake Christian Church. Along with other civic groups, Kirkland Rotarians are invited to join the Attain Housing Luncheon Planning Committee and its Development Committee, and to learn more about these committees on April 20 at 4 p.m. at the Grape Choice. The agency is sharing its 2022 Impact Report with the Rotary Club of Kirkland so members may updated on its work.
Club Attendance for February 2023
The club held two meetings during February 2023, the first at the SOI Thai Restaurant & Bar, and the second exclusively via Zoom. In February, the third Monday was a federal holiday, and the fourth Monday was a bye week. Overall club attendance for the month was 40%, down slightly compared to the prior month. The club's membership stood at 36 active members effective January 30, all of whom have paid dues.
Bulletin Readership February 2023
Club members' readership of the bulletin, The Spokesman, in February paralleled the higher level in the months of November, December, and January. Readership rates were 69% and 74% for the two editions. A bulletin is "read" when the email containing it is opened by the recipient. Some club members have found that viewing the bulletin in an Outlook preview window will not trigger the "read" marker for ClubRunner.
