Club Settles in at Courtyard for Now
The Rotary Club of Kirkland will meet on Mondays at the Courtyard by Marriott at 11215 NE 124th Street in Kirkland for the next several months. The Courtyard has reserved the Rose Hill meeting room for the club, although meetings will also be held in the Evergreen meeting room.

After considering the results of the club's brief meeting survey, taking into account the locations and amenities of the other options under review, and considering the impact of switching back and forth between in-person meetings and Zoom meetings for several months, President DeBois determined the best course of action is to settle into the Courtyard for the next several months for the sake of stability and consistency. Other venues may be considered again after the new year arrives.

Club Meeting Preference Survey Update
Over the past month, 31 club members responded to a brief survey regarding the key attributes of weekly club meetings. Three questions were posed to club members, and an opportunity to offer comments followed. In summary, club members prefer Mondays to any other day of the week, and share an overwhelming preference for dinner meetings rather than breakfast or lunch meetings. More are comfortable with a $40 limit to meal prices compared to other options, and several were willing to pay more for meeting meals.

Q1: Please select which weekdays you would prefer the club hold regular meetings. (Choose all that you would prefer.)

Q2: Please identify from among the following times of the day which one you would most prefer the club meet.

Q3: Please choose from among the following amounts the highest amount you would be willing to pay for a meal during a regular club meeting.

Warm Coats Delivered to John Muir
Community Service Committee Chair Bella Chaffey announced the delivery of winter coats for 89 students at John Muir Elem. through the Rotary Club of Kirkland's Operation Warm|Coats for Kids project. Several boxes of coats arrived at the school, as the photos at right below indicate.

Chaffey noted there is a greater need this year for warm coats than prior years, and the school’s staff is extremely appreciative of the club's donations of warm coats. Staff wants club members to know that the kids werel very excited for their coats to arrive.

Warm coats donations will be received gratefully at any time. Rotarians may go to the DONATE page on the website, then, where it says “Please Select Your Donation Designation”, choose the “Operation Warm” option from the drop-down menu.  The donation page offers pre-set amounts from which to choose, and the option to fill in your own amount has been re-established on the page.
