During February, the Rotary Club of Kirkland hosts two students of the month from Lake Washington School District high schools.  On February 1, club members met Jessica Laing, a junior at Lake Washington High School.  This coming February 8, the club's guest will be Isabel Grizzard, a senior at Juanita High School.  Please plan on joining Isabel's host, Mike Hunter, to welcome her to the club.

Kirkland arts and entertainment leaders are in the spotlight during February.  Jeff Lockhart, the executive director of the Kirkland Performance Center spoke to the club this at last Monday's meeting.  Ryan James, the founder of ryan james fine arts, will present the program on February 8.  For topic details and speaker background use the club website's Speakers tab.  If you have program suggestions for future meetings, please email James Nevers.

To celebrate Valentine’s Day the Rotary Club of Kirkland is again holding a Sweetheart Night!  This event will be similar to what we did last year to celebrate Valentine's Day together!  Bring your significant other to our meeting on February 22!  Send in photos of the two of you for the club to share during the Valentine's Day meeting, and prepare a story to share with everyone!  Send photos to Bella Chaffey at bellachaffey@windermere.com.

Is your membership photo current?  Can new members recognize you from your photo?  Is your membership profile up-to-date?  Hopefully we will be vaccinate soon, herd immunity will be achieved, and once again we’ll be able to gather in person for meetings.  As we plan for a membership surge post-COVID, let’s ensure new Rotarians can recognize us in the Club Photo Directory.  If your photo isn’t an easily recognizable “headshot” as the photographers say, we’ll crop it for you!  If your photo isn’t current, we'll upload a new one for you!  All member profile street addresses will be updated to USPS standards by the end of February, so please check yours to make sure it is (or they are) correct.
