Community Service Chair Bella Chaffey updated us on the holiday party and gift wrapping for kids in an email that went out just before the meeting. Bella reports the club has raised $2,218, and the goal is $10,000 by November 15 so the John Muir Elementary School staff knows how many families can be served. All the warm coats supplies should be in by the 15th of November; we should be able to serve 89 students.

Holiday Gift Wrapping Party Registration
Rotary Club of Kirkland Community Service Committee Chair Bella Chaffey announced further details for the club's combined holiday party and holiday gift wrapping event. Holiday gifting supports John Muir Elementary School families. The John Muir staff identified 150 families whose circumstances make them eligible for holiday gift donations.

The Holiday Gift Wrapping Party will be Monday, December 20, 2021, will begin at 5:00 p.m. with gift wrapping, and will constitute the club's meeting that Monday. Bella has arranged for the club to meet at the Kirkland Woman's Club at 407 First Street in Kirkland. Registrations are now open, and club members may register using the club's Calendar. The fee is $50 per attendee, which covers venue, food, and drink costs, and must be paid at the time of registration.

Club Meeting Preference Survey
Over the past two days, 28 club members responded to a brief survey regarding the key attributes of weekly club meetings. Three questions were posed to club members, and an opportunity to offer comments followed. In summary, club members prefer Mondays to any other day of the week, and share an overwhelming preference for dinner meetings rather than breakfast or lunch meetings. More are comfortable with a $40 limit to meal prices compared to other options, and several were willing to pay more for meeting meals.

Q1: Please select which weekdays you would prefer the club hold regular meetings. (Choose all that you would prefer.)

Q2: Please identify from among the following times of the day which one you would most prefer the club meet.

Q3: Please choose from among the following amounts the highest amount you would be willing to pay for a meal during a regular club meeting.

A more detailed report on the results, including tables and the comments submitted by respondents, may be found in the Documents section of My ClubRunner (password required). The survey will remain open until the end of October. If you have questions about the survey, contact Gary Cohn.
