Overview

The Rotary Club of Kirkland, Washington awards several scholarships to selected local students for their higher education at accredited institutions in 2024.  These scholarships recognize students for a variety of achievements and are designed to support students with financial need and academic promise, and who demonstrate service to their communities.

During the annual application cycle, Rotary Club of Kirkland members interview and select the most promising applicants from each school.  Students are encouraged to apply for as many scholarships for which they qualify using the online application form.  For most of the scholarships, students must attend an accredited higher education institution (e.g., college, university, art institute, technical college, cosmetology school, trade school) in the United States, but some scholarships are limited to the state of Washington.

Scholarship winners are recognized by Rotary members during the club’s Scholarship Awards Night, this year scheduled on June 3, 2024.  Individual schools may also hold annual award ceremonies at which the awardees may be recognized.  For the 2024 cycle, awardees must request their scholarship checks prior to December 1, 2024.  Scholarship checks are issued directly to the higher education institution for tuition, fees, books, supplies and other expenses directly related to the student’s course of study as approved for state or federal financial aid expenditures.
